The Malice of Cold Mountain

Yesterday, I had an adventure.

Now, I don’t know about the rest of the world, but here on the East Coast it’s been in the 60’s all winter, so none of our small gang of hikers really took the moniker Cold Mountain very seriously. That was a mistake—a mistake which would start with cars stalling on the access roads, continue with mild frostbite, and end with some impromptu off-roading, if you know what I mean.

Dramatic Tree Series (Part 3)

Dramatic Tree Series (Part 2)

This picture was taken on the exact same hike as the other ones I’ve been posting recently, only in late summer; hence the green. I struggled really hard with how much to edit this picture. It was taken with my cell phone and thus pretty bleached out, and in the course of experimenting with the contrast I got a really amazing amount of detail out of the rock. It looked sort of abstract, though, so I decided to put this one up instead.

Photographers out there, when you edit your photos do you tend to go for visual complexity or integrity to realism?

A Tiny Collection of Non-Blurry Macro

I went on a hike, today. I can’t just dump all the pictures into one post, though, so here are all my macro shots that turned out okay.

I can’t get my camera to do macro like I really want it to, so I suspect that either A) I’m doing it wrong or B) I need a more versatile (read: expensive) camera. *Grumble* I still like them, though.
